AlpTextyles Project (INTERREG Alpine Space Programme)

 

Project launch in Ljubljana

The ASP project AlpTextyles connects experts for sustainable Alpine development. The focus is on the potentials of the Alpine textile sector: The project delivers fine scale analyses and generates innovative solutions and strategies in order to protect cultural heritage and circular economy of textile production.

In the first step, the project analyses the current situation of Alpine textile value chains via multiple mapping approaches. This scientific basis combines interdisciplinary knowledge for insights on the living heritage, the current state and consumer perspective of Alpine textile value chains. The FAU team has the lead for this work package. Morover, the research group regional development drafts mappings of value creation and potentials as well as institutional mappings.

Second, the project cooperates with textile stakeholders from the Alpine area, aiming to create awareness for new concepts and innovative formats for circular- and heritage-sensitive production for the textile sector in the Alpine space. This project step defines pilot actions and tests new solutions.

Finally, the gathered knowledge and tested solutions will be transferred to the textile ecosystem and disseminated to the public authorities, policy makers and consumers in the Alpine region. This will be done via an innovative and participative online environment (MOOC and Metaverse) combined with dissemination events.
